MrBeast's $1 Million DMZ Video Is Live: 10 Teams, Hajin and a Day's Head Start on MW4 DMZ Early Access
Call of Duty just handed DMZ the biggest possible hype man. On Monday, October 19, MrBeast published his Modern Warfare 4 video, titled "If You Escape, You Win $1,000,000," according to GameSpot. The official Call of Duty account summed up the rules: "10 teams, $1M on the line." It lands exactly one day before MW4 DMZ Early Access opens on Tuesday, October 20.
How MrBeast's DMZ challenge works
Infinity Ward laid out the format in its own post:
- 10 teams drop into Hajin, each starting with $100,000, for $1 million in total.
- Teams eliminate rivals to take their dog tags and cash.
- Nobody keeps anything unless they make it to exfil with their winnings.
That's DMZ's core loop of risk, loot and extraction, with real money in place of in-game gear. Call of Duty calls it "DMZ, done @MrBeast's way."
A full-circle moment, and a big cast
GameSpot notes that MrBeast, who has more than 500 million YouTube subscribers, teased it as "one of the biggest COD videos of all time." He also pointed out that his channel started with Call of Duty videos. Other creators joined in: SnowBikeMike's teaser promised "Call of Duty x Mr. Beast x 19 Incredible Creators and ME."
Some fans asked why it dropped before DMZ was even open. Call of Duty answered directly: "We dropped the video a day early so players can download and be ready to drop in for DMZ Early Access starting October 20."
DMZ launch-week intel dropped the same day
Activision paired the video with a wave of launch-week progression details:
- DMZ gets its own progression, with 70 levels of Level Unlocks. They cover FOB Stations, upgrades and 3D Printer recipes, plus gear, Operator skins, consumables, survival kits and fire support.
- Returning DMZ veterans get rewards. If you played the Modern Warfare II DMZ Beta, link the same Activision account to claim the "Beta On Record" emblem and "Beta Squad" calling card in MW4 DMZ Early Access, per Call of Duty. There's an extra tier for players who logged 50+ hours.
- DMZ has its own Mastery Camos: Chiral, Ripple Tide and Helio, separate from Multiplayer and Warzone.
